Specific heat capacity of substance A is 3.8Jg-1K-1 whereas the specific heat capacity of substance B is 0.4Jg-1K-1. Which of the two is a good conductor of heat? How is one led to this conclusion?

Answer»

Specific heat capacity ‘A’ 3.8J/g/K. Specific heat capacity ‘B’ 0.4J/g/K ‘B’ is a good conductor of heat.

Since specific heat capacity is the energy required to raise the temp. of 1g of a substance 1°C. So less heat energy passes through the substance.
