Answer» Heyyy !!!
Here is your answer - ____________________________________ MERISTEMATIC TISSUE -
It's a simple tissue which is composed of group of similar and immature cells (meristematic cells) which can divide to form new cells.
Breifly Discription -
Characteristics of meristematic tissue - ✓ They have ABILITY to grow and divide. ✓ They have small and immature cells. ✓ Intercellular spaces are absent. ✓ may be rounded, oval or polygonal shaped. ✓ Cells have dense cytoplasm and CONSPICUOUS nucleus. ✓ Endoplasmic Reticulum are small. ✓ Mitochondria posses simple structure. ✓ Instead of Plastid, proplastids are present. ✓ Rate of Respiration is very high.
Types of Meristematic tissue (on the basis of positions)
1. Apical Meristem - Present on the tip of stem and roots. They are responsible for growth of length of plant.
2. Intercalary Meristem - Present at intercalary position (at nodes). They help in elongation of the organs.
3. Lateral Meristem - They are found on the lateral side. They are responsible for increment in thickness. ____________________________________ PERMANENT TISSUE -
The group of cells which have lost the capacity to divide and have achieved permanent shape and size are known as Permanent tissue.
They are of three types - Simple Permanent Tissue. Complex Permanent Tissue. Special Permanent Tissue. ____________________________________ SIMPLE PERMANENT TISSUE -
Group of similar permanent cells having same function are known as Simple Permanent Tissue.
They are of three types - 1. Parenchyma - They are most abundant and common tissue made up of thin walled similar isodiametric cells. Their cell wall are made up of cellulose. Function - ✓ Storage of food. ✓ Provide turbidity to softer parts. ✓ Provide rigidity. ✓ It Protects and checks water loss. ✓ It forms water absorbing epiblemma.
2. Collenchyma - Generally they have elongated cells. They are circular, oval or angular in TRANSVERSE section. They contains Chloroplast. Found in - epidermis of petioles, leaves and stems of dicots. Functions - ✓ Provides MECHANICAL strength. ✓ Prevents tearing of leaves. ✓ Also provides flexibility to the organs. ✓ They contains Chloroplast so, they participate in photosynthesis.
3. Sclerenchyma - They are simple supportive tissue having highly thick-walled cells with less or no protoplasm.. Thickning of wall may be made up of cellulose or LIGNIN or both. Functions- ✓ They are chief mechanical tissue of a mature plant organ. ✓ It allows plant organs for bending, shearing, compression and pull caused by wind and other environmental factors. ____________________________________ In every section first paragraph provides you short definitions about your questions and rests are brief descriptions to give some basic ideas. ____________________________________ ____________________________________ Hope it will help you... best of luck...
