Answer» ???IE is not loading yahoo. When I disconnect the power to the modem and then reconnect the modem, yahoo will load. Do you think it's the modem? Now that you've rebooted, let us know how long you go before you can't reach yahoo. Are you using a router, or just the modem? After disconnect and then reconnect the modem, yahoo loads great. But still sometimes while switching screens, it slows down to a crawl. I did have a router connected, but when the trouble started I disconnected it.OK -- that's good troubleshooting. So, right now, you're going right from the computer to the modem.
Cable, DSL, dialup? DSL from AT&T. I even had them to come out and take a look at my lines. they tested the lines, and said that there was a problem in the line, but it's fixed....no it's not!! I think that they were just trying to appease me. The problem is not fixed. What about other websites? Is the problem only with Yahoo?Do you have DSL filters on ALL phone lines in the house ? ? Even lines not in use should have one...I have two phone lines at my house. I only have filters that connect to the phone in that room. I was told by AT&T that I did not need filters on the other lines because they were different phone numbers. If it's a different line they may be correct unless it is a line-sharing setup which they OFFER... You have nothing to LOSE by throwing a filter on it. Is this a SpeedStream modem ? ? If so demand a new one if it continues like this...Patio is, as usual, correct. IF they are physically separate phone lines, you shouldn't need filters; however, SINCE the phone lines are in close proximity once they enter your Network Interface BOX, it wouldn't hurt to filter every phone jack in the house. How is the voice quality on the phone line where the DSL is installed?SORRY, I do not know what type of filter it is. I am less than a novice when it comes to computers or anything else techical. But I will put a filter on all the other phones. The phone quality is very good on all of the phones.
