Solve : XP- Safemode wont run, Blue Screen of Death?

Answer»

Hello.

On my other computer, it wont get past the "Safe mode, Safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt" ECT. We hit ENTER and it "loads", but it'll just go back to the same screen. We're getting the blue-screen-of-death occasionally. It is: "UNDERMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME". We need HELP. Thank you!

BTake your Windows OS disc and do a repair to your system. We're doing that. C or H drive? The C drive will delete all of our files.
H drive is too small. Are we kinda... y'know? Thanks. How to PERFORM a Windows XP Repair InstallWould it let you repair C: drive?Yes, but I am not wanting to delete years of our files.Okay, so when I'm at the menu to check partition C or H, it says that partition C is 182001mb. The empty SPACE on it is 182001. Does that mean it is already wiped? Thanks.

If that's what you did before when you said "We're doing that."This suppose to be a repair of C drive not to wipe your files on C drive. When it came up did it ask you to press R for repair? Quote from: cervantes100 on January 03, 2010, 03:12:04 PM

We're doing a command prompt now. I changed from the H:\I386 drive to the C:. Should I change it back? And should I do chkdsk /r or chkdsk c:/r?Do the repair on C drive. chkdsk /r.Ok. After that, what?If its doing the repair. It might take 40 minutes or more to complete.
