Answer» Hey does anyone know where I can get an XP home key bc my friend gave me his xp home cd but didn't know where his activation key was. someone please help me! I would suggest that you BUY one from a reputable Microsoft dealer. Windows XP is now licensed to the computer not the person, so if your friend gave you the disk he was supposed to give you the computer it was installed on too.
From the XP End User License Agreement.......

Morgan Ellis.....First of all ...if your friends copy of Win Xp is missing the cd key .......oops maybe I should have said if your friends authentic Win XP cd which was SUPPLIED with his computer is missing , LOST or whatever.... Ask him to look on the side of his computer for the product code ......or just phone Micro Soft and explain that the key has been lost and I'm sure they will have a solution for you .
dl65 Just as a note... When if you call Microsoft, be prepared... They are not at all pleasent to deal with...
