Solve : Xbox help??

Answer»

Not sure if this is allowed but I'm taking my chances.

So my Xbox will turn on and all, but it won't load and the disc tray won't open. I press it and you hear it making a sound like it will open but it never does. And then it never loads on the screen, nothing happens, it just stays on but nothing loads. I tried on other tv's and wit other cables and still the same problem. No irregular flashing of the green light.

Anyone KNOW what happened?

Edit: Actually, the green light does flash continually.Anything is allowed in the "Other" forum - welcome...

I don't own an XBox but Google came up with this.

Good luckThanks..

Didn't really help much though, as it just tells me to go get it repaired by Microsoft, not the reason or how I can fix it myseld Well, I can FIND lotsa info on XBox error codes but most refer to patterns of a red and green flashing led or to red and orange or just red, haven't found a reason or cure for just a green flashing led.

You could try asking for help on one of the many XBox dedicated forums like this one.

Sorry, can't be more help to you.

To me, it just sounds broken, plain and simple, and you need to take it back for repairs, plain and simple. Neil, I would like to know WHY and HOW it broke. Nothing happened to it out of the ordinary. I played it one night, turned it off as always, put it away, then tried to use it the next day and it's had the same error ever since. I want to know what the heck happened.

Quatroking - But even if it were stuck, why would that prevent the game from loading or the start-up screen to load? Nothing loads at all. Also, know where I can find instructions on how to open it? Can't find a way to do it.\

Dusty - Thanks, I'll ask there as well.sounds like the timing is off. have you ever forced the tray CLOSED?

also, what might have happened is that the cd that was inserted into the drive "popped up" on an angle and is now preventing you from opening the drive by acting like a wedge. this may also account for you not being able to read the the already inserted cd.

and also here are a couple questions...

1. do you mean xbox or xbox 360?
2. and how FAR does the xbox load? (does it get past the green gob loading screen?)

Homer - I meant the Xbox, the older one.

And as I said, NOTHING loads, not even the green screen. After several minutes of clicking both buttons randomly thousands of times finally it loads nad I can play the game inside, but after I turn it off again, same thing happens.hmmm something might be fryed then, try opening the xbox up and LOOKING around for burnt parts. and while your at it, you can disassemble the cd drive and see what wrong with it too.
