Pardon my intrusion, but after skulking around and ejoying quite a few tips on new ways to make my computer life easier....

You guys have a pretty nice community here!  You need a thread like this to keep RUNNING to check in with each other on an ongoing basis - like the vacation thread!

....just a suggestion but it does build an esprit de corps!

Besides!  I like the idea where I can say something and it may not be a question, exactly. (Like where the heck else would I have put this?) LOL!You mean like a 'chat' thread? We have a chatbox. But it is frequented by people of unknown origin.

Besides, where I come from, two is a crowd.I suspected you lived out in the sticks Raptor, that perspex stuff doesn't grow on TREES you know.
Rewinding your 386 must be a pain.  LOL Raptor

two isn't a binary number HAhahahaha Your Royal Geekness!  It isn't like we are going to make you have a mirror or anything

Nah - chatting brings in some even stranger than whatever is growing in Raptor's box LOL (just kidding, Raptor....er...maaybeee..

I had a hellacious TIME trying to install my AIM account today on this pc without getting AOL tenacles all through it as WELL.  ....And I have a strange file in my Programs.  My Setup is there because Windows won't let you delete it - but it doesn't have anything in the folder.

See - There is no way I could fit all of that in a topic - nor would I expect you to answer!  Just to laugh at the noob and feel sorry for me (or minor contempt - I said MINOR, Raptor!).

There - I vented!  Hope you guys had a great weekend!AIM is for thrillseekers.
Are you sure your folder is a windows one?
Right click & check it's properies/attributes, it may be set so you can't delete it. Just CHANGE them.
KillBox.exe is a good little program to delete the undeletable.  OOOOOOOoooooo

I must be such a hussy! LOL  AIM is for the hookup to my sister 900 miles away - we sign on the video IM and talk all day.  She is without a technogeek and the AOL program is easier for her to deal with.   Hahahahahaha - I am SUCH a THRILL SEEKER!  What must you think of my Trillan?

The attributes are all unchecked and I think it is a Windows program - at least that's what I deduced since the message said I couldn't delete it because it was a systems folder.  NUttin in it!  Weird!

If I ask nicely, would you link me up to killbox.exe? (please? )Don't delete it unless you're 100% sure that it's not needed. There may be files in there that you can't see.
Google 'killbox' will get you there but don't use it unless you're sure. Better still, don't use it. LOLIf Fed weren't married, we'd have something to celebrate now. Is this what they call love on first sight?

Killbox
-- Removes files that seem to be constantly in use.

Just don't hate me because I'm beautiful.

You may wish to use the following tools too

Easy Cleaners
-- Freeware registry scanner
Registrar Lite
-- Excellent replacement for Windows Regedit
Crap Cleaner
-- Freeware registry scanner/history cleaner

Caution is advised when using these programs!
Create backups of all important files before proceeding.

Thanks guys!

You are a beautiful couple!  I found your bicker column in time to see the boss (admin.) give you a hard time for all the love you leach out into your messages lol.  Keep it lighthearted and insert a smiley every now and then!  Shredding is what the PMs are for !!!

I am working off my PC number 2 as Norton wouldn't reinstall after all the
Adobe files were removed - It is a brand new pc.  I am just going to wipe it and start over.  Sheesh.  Good thing my #2 is running - though now I have probably jinxed it.  \\

What do you all think of windowblinds?   Quote

It looks too much like Macintosh OS. I prefer the Windows 2000 look.

That should not happen - what is the error message you receive?
