Answer» I am using Win98SE. I recently switched to a DSL internet connection, and networked 2 computers for file-sharing. I was using ZoneAlarm as my firewall, and that apparently caused a problem. ZoneAlarm prevented several NECESSARY system files from operating. By the time I caught and corrected the problem, the damage was done. I now repeatedly get a message saying "Error in Winsock Module. Connection Structure is unknown. Possible reason: your firewall and/or antivirus application BLOCKS the system file (and one of 3 system file names comes up here)" I uninstalled both ZoneAlarm and the antivirus program, and I ran a registry cleanup program, but the messages keep appearing. Everything SEEMS to work okay, but the messages are very annoying.
Any suggestions on how to repair the Winsock Module? TomUse this at your own risk.

Good luck. I've solved my problem . My thanks to you who tried to help. The problem was a virus- Sober-H. I got a message 2 DAYS ago sayoing that something I had sent had been blocked. The message sender was unclear. I was told to click for more information. Stupidly, I did.
The virus is a worm which does a number of random things. In my case, it presented these false error messages.
It ALSO can get to your address book, and send messages, under a phony name, to spread the virus. Be aware. Tom
