Answer» i recently BOUGHT a new dell vostro 200 slim tower with xp installed in it.now that MICROSOFT is discontinue xp in june,will i need to upgrade to VISTA,and is that an option for my COMPUTER?What do you mean "discontinue"? Windows XP will be supported until 2014.I would highly suggest not upgrading to Vista: I haven't heard a good thing about it yet, and, as Soviet Genius pointed out, XP will still be supported for about six more years.windows vista isn't that bad ... it hasn't caused me problems yet now that SP1 is installed. but y all means xp isn't a bad o.s. and since microsoft is still supporting it then it's still fine to keep it! XP will be discontinued in terms of available on sale in STORES but microsoft isn't gonna not keep it updated.
