Are you able to enter the Advanced Options using the F8 key? I mean, are you able to see the menu with the alternate boot options, with Safe Mode, etc...? Quote from: dne9460 on August 19, 2009, 01:46:45 AM I put a start up disk in & its no help cause the keyboard & mouse won't work. 1. Startup Disk. What startup disk? Who made it and what does the LABEL say? 2. Boot Device Selection. Are you able to specify the boot device selection order either by entering CMOS setup during system startup or via function key during system startup? 3. Keyboard. PS/2, USB, wireless, or something else (INFRARED?) ? 4. Mouse. PS/2, USB, or wireless?somethimg similar happenned to me .... keyboard didnt work.... i had to purchase a ps/2 keyboard and mouse because the usb keyboard and mouse didnt work while booting.... i suggest asking a friend for a keyboard and mouse and try EVERYTHING again....Quote from: blockHEAD on August 19, 2009, 02:50:02 AM What exactly do you mean here? What startup disk? Who made it and what does the label say? 1. Its the windowa start up disk that came with the computer 2. No I can't specify the boot selection order with comos setup cause the keyboar & mouse will not operate. Both are USB1. Computer Specs. a. Desktop, Laptop, Notebook, Netbook? b. Make, Model, and Model Number? c. Approximately how old (basically approximate year of manufacture)? 2. PS/2 Keyboard. If your computer has a PS/2 port for a keyboard, get one (borrow, buy, whatever it takes). Not every computer has USB support (enabled?) for keyboard during startup. We don't need the "mouse" for system startup. Have you used the USB keyboard successfully in the past to view/modify system BIOS parameters during startup? Let us KNOW if PS/2 keyboard is functional during system startup and we'll go from there.Quote from: dahlarbear on August 20, 2009, 11:28:41 AM a. Desktop, Laptop, Notebook, Netbook?theres a difrence of a laptop vs desktop? you probubly will need a ps/2 keyboard if your lucky the bios will have legacy USB support so you can enable it in the bios with the ps/2 keyboard and switch back to the USB keyboard you probubly could barrow a ps/2 keyboard |
