Can anyone explain why? because you're going to have to force me to get vista as a HOME computer.
This laptop (vista) sucks (software/program wise, everything else is ok).The site you're linking to just SHOW that MS will stop selling OEM licenses JANUARY 2008 and system builder licenses the following year. It has nothing to do with when they stop support. It's a bit confusing but as I understand the FAQ they will do paid support for 10 years after release and security updates will also be made for 10 years. So support doesn't stop before 2011.Still think microsoft is making a MISTAKE....XP support is actually extended to 2014...

And because of pressure from OEM's they are re-thinking the results of this announcement as well. I know Dell got an extension for OEM liscenses.
