Think you could direct me to which ones I need to download?

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=LATITUDE%20D820&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
Assuming that these drivers are for your laptop (service tag), then I would download the chipset driver and the video driver - note that there are two video drivers, only download the one that matches the video on your computer.

Then go into Device Manager and look for ERRORS - down load those drivers.

If you have questions, post back. When at Dell's site simply enter your service tag # and it will list your correct drivers...

Also what ver. of FireFox ? ?
Older versions had a memory leak issue and it could very WELL be the culprit.
Update to the latest ver.I set it so hard disks won't shut off - I'll post and say if that works.

Also, I'm currently using the newest version of Firefox - so that shouldn't be an issue.I have one more questions, regarding this:
Quote
Everytime I leave my laptop idle for approximately one hour or more
Do you have any programs running, when you leave your computer? If so, usually, what programs.

Concerning, FF memory leaks, FF3 is better, but still not perfect.
On a top of it, some add-ons may cause memory leaks.
Check this list: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions, and see, if you have any add-ons listed as possible cause of memory leaks, installed.Usually the only programs are ..

Firefox & AIM.

And no luck on the extensions thing.Have you done this?

it just MEANS that your hard disks won't go into standby mode they will always be on. I have mine set up that way and I haven't had a problem and it won't hurt the drive either
