Okay.... here is the situation my parents are focrcing me to fix my sisters computer which is pretty much totaled.

The issue is, when ever you turn it on the monitor shows no response. I tried switching monitors w/ ATLEAST 5 different monitors non, prove effective. So the monitor os not the issue

I tired the recovery disc, the installing disc, any disc related to fixing the problem. Black screen still prevails...

I've found no way to acess the harddrive and delete the partion, so I can delete whatever is corrupting it....

I recommended a new harddrive to my parents, but I would like a 2nd opinion on that... is there another way I can fix it? or is a new harddrive best.

If you can suggest ANYTHING I should try please do.Can you enter BIOS (setup) to see if computer detects the hard drive?CPT:

What change(s) occurred just prior to this behavior?  (For example, was a new video card installed? was a VIRUS detected? or was new software installed?)

When you first start the computer, does anything appear on the monitor, such as the POWER On Self Test (POST) memory check?

Are there any series of beeps that you hear?  If so, exactly how many?

Nothing appears on the screen at all, no beeps, and no I can't enter BIOS at all. It's just black and my believes are it is a bad harddrive

ALSO: Note this was my sisters computer before, i can gurantee you it wasn't a program.... maybe a virus because she DOWNLOADS a lot of crap and she is one of the girls who doesn't know a thing about the computer excpet AIM,Internet, and DownloadRe-seat the ram.
