Answer» I was wondering how I could make my laptop just log off when I close the screen instead of it completely shutting it down. I am many times just moving my laptop from upstairs to downstairs and when I shut it I would like it to just log off.In Vista using the shutdown right ARROW at the bottom left there is the logoff option.Hmm, my Vista laptop goes into sleep mode if I close it. I wonder WHETHER there's a preference setting somewhere that would allow you to change the behavior of your laptop. What version of Vista do you have? What's the make and model of your laptop? Does it immediately shutdown when you close it, or does it need to be closed for a certain length of time before it shuts down?I think it's in the POWER settings, in your control panel. You can tell the computer what you want it to do when you close the screen. Sorry I can't be of more help: I haven't SEEN a laptop or the Vista Virus for a while.
