Answer» I use Win 98
When i shut down my PC
there come two screens:
one is a blue screen telling "windows is shutting down"
the next one is ablack screen telling " it is now safe to turn off your computer"
My problem is EVERYTIME i try to shut down it comes to the first sceen (the blue screen) and stays there until i swich of the main switch.
I have defragmented C: drive, even deleted the files in the temp folder, but still the problm persists.
Doing this activity again and again recently caused my SMPS to be damaged and replaced by a new one.
Now I am expecting the new SMPS to get replaced by another one. Did it used to work as you envision? If so, what has changed? Any playing about in the BIOS? Especially ACPI settings?I have not changed anything in the Bios.
In every 6 or 7 shut down attempts, 4 times it is occuring.
Can it be due to a spyware?
I really need to SOLVE this, because i AFRAID my motherboard will be damaged.
I don't have any UPS.Is your windows updated regularly?
:-/ infoseeker :-/No. Why ?
Is there any particular update REQUIRED for this ?
What are you using for spyware/virus protection?
Doing it only occasionally does not sound like normal behavior, does it?
