thxIf you used ghost backup software now, that ghost image of your hard drive would contain the same system problem you have now. So, you need to fix your problem BEFORE using ghost backup software to create a backup of your entire system.

Good luck.I UNDERSTAND...but it says nothing about DLoading a hal.dll...Lots of download sites here..

My understanding is that once a 'fresh' Hal.dll is copied to System32 and the system rebooted some drivers will have to be reinstalled.

Also understand that Hal can be extracted from an install cd and, believe it or not, copied from one system disk to another. See the link in Soybean's reply #3.
