Quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using YHIS drive,and make SURE that no winndowis displaying the contents of this drive. then try formatting again. I have UNINSTALLED anti-spyware, ad-aware, nortons works, but am unable to uninstall Weather Watcher. So can i get a DOS prompt using XP, How is it done ? and the drive is partitioned what do i type at the prompt ? Thanks again for your help Shooter The xp disk will format the drive for you.
Are you re-partitioning as well?

1. DOS emulator , not true DOS. 2. You can't format the drive that's currently in use (the one you booted from). 3. Yes. Accessories--Command Prompt 4. Type nothing...You can't do it the way you think. Shooter:
