Solve : Windows 98 on SATA? |
|
Answer» Here is a question for everybody here. I wanted to INSTALL windows 98 on a second hard drive that I will be puchasing in the near future. but not sure if 98 can install on a SATA hard drive. If not, what is the earliest windows OS that can? Thanks! This ARTICLE may help, for starters.O man this is gonna be a lot more difficult than I thought lol. I read this "Beware that changing this configuration on a working system will probably kill an installation of Windows XP." My problem is, I have XP on the computer sounds like I will lose it? Or is that if i partition on the same hard drive? I was thinking of buying a second hard drive and doing it that way. Will that save me from losing XP?I didn't read a lot last night, but from what I saw, you should be able to install Windows 98 Second Edition on a SATA drive.Hmmmmm idk if its possible with a second hard drive. Would windows 2000 be better? like was 2000 BUILT for SATA, or at least better than 98?I would go with Win2K if it is available to you. I don't know if it's being actively supported by Microsoft at this point, but I know there's more drivers available for it, since it is a more recent operating system, and should SUPPORT SATA. |
