Solve : Windows 98 installation? |
|
Answer» Hi there, When i boot the PC with the W98-cd rom, for some dark reason, the computer sees the internal memory as drive a:\ and the 3,5"" - drive as drive b:\. Many floppy drive ribbon cables have connectors for two floppy DRIVES. The end connector (with twist in cable?) is drive "A:", the middle connector is drive "B:". Is it possible the floppy drive is on the middle connector? You aren't required to make the bootable disk during installation. You can make it later: o Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs o Add/Remove Programs PROPERTIES windows appears o Select "Startup Disk" tab, PRESS "Create Disk..." button. Not sure if it will allow you to write to drive "B:", however. So you should RESOLVE this issue before you need the startup disk (boot floppy that you don't have yet). |
