Solve : windows 10 upgrade problem?

I was running Windows 7 PRO on my Dell OPTIPLEX 780 x64 bit and recently did the free Windows 10 upgrade. But now the PC is running incredibly slow. Before downloading and installing the upgrade I checked to make SURE the system was compatible and able to handle it.
Was told that it might be because the Windows 7 operating files were not deleted and the Windows 10 upgrade is running "over" the old Windows 7. ()
Does anyone know the solution / fix to this problem? Has anyone else had the same experience? Quote

No. If that were true you would have SEEN it from the upgrade.
