[glb]Flame[/glb]Liddokun: No prob about the double post, i've done that before! Pro Tools may have been infected with a virus or may have been poorly programmed (like programmers SAY, "Garbage in, garbage out"). So, the question to answer is how do you return to the way things were before the software installation? There are a few things you may try: 1. M2's suggestion to have XP return to the last known good configuration (which will restore the Windows registry to the way it was before the software was installed). If it works, this may be the easiest way to fix the problem. 2. If this doesn't work, try FED's suggestion. Chances are you won't be able to boot to Safe Mode if Last Known Good Config does not work, but if you can get to safe mode, then you should use XP's System Restore to return to the restore point that it created when the software was installed. 3. While you are in Safe Mode, i'd also recommend running your antivirus program just in case a virus is the cause. If you need help getting into safe mode, or if these suggestions don't fix it, let us know. If all else fails, we will talk you through a repair installation of XP.
