Answer» help i have a custom built xp comp running a asus mn2emb, athlon 3400 duel core processer a sli vid card(cant remember name but used for 3d GAMING),1 gig mem., onboard sound, and a 250 gig seagate that i think crashed and has been replaced by a west dig 500 gig both was/are sata. problem is installed the new HD and loaded fine,, everything looked fine surfed the net, my son went to load games and get back to gaming and the comp. froze,restarted and same thing, tried another game same thing restarted and went to play an online game, same thing,, it seems like anything that takes more work or thinking by the comp locks it up. could i have gotten a bad hd does this sound like something a hd might do? i have checked all of the cables and connections help my son is having gaming withdraws and he is DRIVING me crazyWhat temperature is your CPU running at?
