Answer» So I finally got upgraded to a Windows 7 workstation from the dinosour computer we use to have running XP Pro.
On break here I was going to assist someone with a batch file and test it at my end and then I discovered SOMETHING very strange. Hopefully someone here can point out what is going on...
The file I used to find the PATH to my data is TEST1
I can find test1 and open the pdf with no problems. The problem is that the path that it shows to exist at C:\users\qx0t00\Documents does not seem to SHOW up in both windows explorer as well as in command shell. Thinking it may be a hidden folder I then selected to show hidden files/folders... Still not showing up
I attached 2 screenshots to show what I am seeing. I was hoping to navigate to C:\users\qx0t00\Documents\ in order to test a batch file from command shell vs navigating to it through Libraries -> Documents and find it very strange that the file shows up as being pathed to C:\users\qx0t00\Documents and it doesnt show it as existing as a path. So I am scratching my head on this one... This is something I have never seen before so posting it here for someone to clarify where it is hidden?
Attachment #1 shows navigation to the test1.pdf file, and Attachment #2 shows the path in properties of test1.pdf, yet the My Documents / Documents folder is missing from both navigation on C: as well as command shell navigation???
[recovering disk space, attachment deleted by admin]All users will see C:\Users\Documents as their Documents Library, and paths pointing to "My Documents" are also changed by desktop.ini to "appear" as the "Documents" folder in Properties. "My Documents" itself is a junction point that redirects to your (Selected) Documents folder. The Actual "My Documents" folder has an ACL that prevents you from actually looking inside it from that hard link.
