Solve : What should the "Others" section be for?? |
|
Answer» Its an ongoing war. Its an ongoing war.It doesnt APPEAR to be a ongoing war from where I sit ......... however , it would appear that a few are trying to turn a nothing issue into something ....... LOL regards dl65 Quote LOL .......... Until such times as the ADMIN changes the rules , and I'm certainly not opposed to that , the "OTHER" threads original intent should be respected .Ok. Let us know when you get that phone call reply from Nathan... This issue of the others section has been around a few times, actually. My vote is for both. This is a computer forum, so there should be computer discussions. Yet as an Other section, it grants freedom to "Other Topics" unless rules say otherwise such as the description of the forum.Quote My vote is for both. AMEN i voted for Both infoseeker I voted for off topic as i don't think there isn't a computer related topic which can't go in any of the others. Eithier that or a new "general" sub forum? Both, here as well. R0SSAs long as we don't go silly, and start calling each other names, I don't see the problem with it. But I can see dl65's point of view as well. But I voted both.i also voted both cuz we need something new in the mixIt seems to me that the description under "Other" is "Discussions and help with everything else." In my head, I split that thus: [ Discussions ] and [ help with ANYTHING else ]. rather than: [ Discussions and help ] [ with anything else ]. i.e. my view is that any topic that consitutes a "discussion" is valid, as are requests for help with anything. Therefore, I am not at all sure what the problem is, or why Nathan needs to be consulted about this. For what it's worth, it is nice to have an area that is a little more relaxed. It helps to keep crap out of the other threads, because you can always direct spammers to this "Other" section.I agree entirely with Rob and you others who voted for both. With all due respect dl65, lighten up a bit. The thread in question was an intelligent conversation. There was no malice, ranting or disrespect of the beliefs of others. You moderators will always have the authority, and rightly so, to end a thread that ends up that way. What is wrong with getting to know how other CH members think about topics other than computers without having to go to another forum? I think it makes CH a whole lot more interesting. Quote I agree entirely with Rob and you others who voted for both. But could we remember this for a second... this post isn't really about the whole religious "Is This Appropriate" post. Things like these have been going around for a long TIME now. Like the "Is Cairo a guy?" post, and many of MACS posts... |
