Solve : what is xp doing to my hard drives? |
|
Answer» currently i have a dual boot setup with windows xp and windows 7. the problem is randomly when im using xp and im looking at my windows 7 users folder or windows folder it will START spitting out errors like the directory D:\windows is UNREADABLE then if i try to open the my documents folder in xp it will TELL me that it is also unreadable if i try to restart the computer after this xp will fail to boot because it will say windows has failed to start because the following file is missing or corrupt. if i start windows 7 it will boot into its recover ENVIRONMENT and spend hours repairing disk errors and i will have to take ownership of everything again. now im LOCKED out of windows 7 and xp windows 7 ran chkdsk and it said replacing invalid security id with default id windows 7 boots to bsod now and xp gets stuck in a 2h long chkdsk session when ever i boot into it |
