Answer» I've been cleaning up my hardrive and I've noticed files named index.dat are scattered around my computer. They look like their listing every internet site i've been to. Any idea what this is and why it's logging every place I go?Thats the whole point of index.dat. no matter how much you clean your temp folders, there still will be a record of what sites you been to.. I must be missing something. I am running Win.XP.Home and here is the screen output from both Command and Cmd -
