Answer» Hey,
I think i have a pretty big problem atm. (running Win XP Pro)
Everytime i boot my computer i get the:
'We appologise for the inconvenience but windows did not start succeccfully" with the 'safe mode OPTIONS' 'last known good config' and 'start windows normally'.
WELL when i select either 'start windows normally' or 'last known good config' options it comes on to a blue screen quick and goes of STRAIGHT away soi carnty see what it says and the computer restarts everytime!:( if i try any of the safe modes. I just get masses of code saying stuff like 'Multi(0)Rdisk'.
So i tryed reinstalling windows on that computer. But it wouldnt let me even successfully format it, when it got so far i got a blue screen appearing windows error one.
So i then tryed reinstalling windows on it from another computer and it worked no errors. and the it booted fine from the other pc.
When i took it back to my pc nothings changed having the same problems.
So does any one know what they think it could be. Motherboard? Bios? HD?
I carnt see how it could be the HD though as it works on the other computer. But i ALWAYS thought it was windows that made the blue screen errors.
Please help me.
Kind Regards Jamie.k Windows does make that blue screen. Did you say when you plug the hard driv into another computer it loads sucessfully? Bad idea since the computer hardware from one computer is diffrent from another computer. Btw what does the error say on the blue screen? You only get that one error? Well man, I think I hade the same problems with my PC, I did not know what to do! I've done all those what you've said, I was also sure the CD is good but i lied myself. Try with other CD ! that is my opinion. If not, reconnect the drives on your PC, reconnect the memory and things like that, maybe that is the problem!Start by checking RAM with MemTest (free at www.memtest86.com). Then reseat all cards. Is there some history of computer abuse or other problemns with this machine?
Quote Windows XP Professional.
Everytime I boot my computer I get the following message...
'We apologise for the inconvenience but Windows did not start successfully' together with the Safe Mode options 'Last known good config' and 'Start Windows normally'.
When I select either 'Start Windows normally' or 'Last known good config' options it flashes a blue screen which goes off so quickly that I can't see what it says and the computer restarts everytime!
If I try any of the safe modes. I just get masses of code saying 'Multi(0)Rdisk'.
So I tried reinstalling Windows on that computer. But it wouldn't even let me successfully format it. When it got so far I got a blue screen appearing with "Windows error one".
I then tried reinstalling Windows on it (the drive in question) from another computer and it worked, with no errors, and it also booted properly on the other PC.
When I took the drive back to my PC nothing has changed and I am having the same problems.
So does any one know what they think it could be? Motherboard? Bios? HD?
I can't see how it could be the HD though as it works on the other computer, but I always thought it was Windows that made the blue screen errors.

Kind Regards.
Hello Jamie, It certainly does not sound like the hard drive is the problem so I would start with the basics of reseating the RAM modules and other cards and running MemTest86 overnight to see if the RAM is OK.
What are the IDE CABLES like in these two machines? Are they 80 wire flat cables?
Some of the round cables give cross-talk errors and can cause data corruption.
Are all fans running properly, is the processor temperature what it should be, and are there any loose cables or plugs, bad connections, etc. ?
How is the Power Supply Unit?
All things to look at. Hey thanks for replys.
I have checked all the RAM is in place properly etc.
I can tell you the error i get when trying to format/install windows on the HD from that computer as i redid it so i can tell you the error message.
As follows:
'A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer.
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
'blah check software hardware changes'(had non)
Tech info *** stop : 0x0000000A (0XFFBF0000, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0X80828D6B)'
I dont know what it could be dont want to buy a new motherboard and that not be the problem really
thanks.
