Not to upset pc  users whatever their system they may have.But in this year 2005 ad is not that good, By now the system should tell you what is wrong with you pc,and not throwing up silly codes, messages that only the software script writers etc can understand,and the fob of issue of troubleshooting  help is a fisaco so we are in NOWHERE land, and its strange that thirty-party software  SORTS it out.....so my POINT is....why do people buy ......microsoft...why  not .apple/mac software.....i bet you have quicktime/ipod.......is it software or hardware
my moneys on software that has,  problems.....We take Microsoft over Apple becuase Apple is compatible with VERY few good programs that many people use... Windows is compatible with most everything... Not just compatibility, but the features and GUI are a little bit better in my opinion. Although, I see (and agree) with your point... By now, we should have robots and hovercars... lol

But, hey, we haven't. So I think the silly error codes could stay until humans can GET it right. Look on it as a punishment!I've been punished enough. I've fooling with computers since Univac and paper tape, and I still can't decipher 99% of the stupid error codes.
