Solve : Weird question: de-magnetize a harddrive.?

Answer»

Hi Neil,

A. Why are you worried about him getting the data?

B. Why does he want it back?

I am not worrying about it but my new boss is. The old boss was fired under a very bad term. Even tho the hd is electronically demaged, the data are still intact and RECOVERABLE, if the old boss takes it to a cleanroom facility.  The harddrive contains sensitive client data of the law firm, he's concern the guy may do something bad with the data.

That, in itself, is reason enough to make certain the drive is totally destroyed. Don't give it to him under any circumstances.Magnet, then water OR delete all the partitions and install Linux on it with a different files system.why not go for the jonny neumonic and give up PART of your brain for your own hdd... then they got to cut your HEAD off to even get acess to it...
