Answer» I have just bought a new computer that uses Vista Home Premium. I have installed AVG Free (I deleted the trial version of NORTON that came with the computer) AVG ANTISPYWARE and an old version of Window Washer. What do I need to keep my computer safe and running well. glenaftonMy personal preferences are AVG anti-virus, Zone Alarm firewall and SpywareBlaster, with AdAware, Spybot S&D, CCleaner as maintenance tools.
AVG seems to be updated daily, the others need updating as necessary.
I FIND that running Windows Washer on a regular basis is a waste of time and need only be run when you are disposing of the hdd.
Not had an INTRUSION on any pc for over 4 years when Lop.com was the heavy.
Good luckI use a range of PROTECTION software all from what I’ve experienced are great –
Free – AVG Spybot – Search and Destroy
Paid –Norton 360 Quote from: Geek07 on September 23, 2007, 07:05:11 AM I use a range of protection software all from what I’ve experienced are great –

You're using both AVG Anti-Virus and Norton's anti-virus software?Yes, AVG was already installed when I purchased Norton, and since have left it installed.
