Is it possible to get viruses in a Windows installation on a virtual PC ?

Of COURSE. Why wouldn't it? Kind of a silly question, when you CONSIDER that a "virtual PC" is an emulated PC. what runs on a normal PC can run on a emulated PC and therefore so too can viruses and malware.

Depends on the setup. if your sharing folders/files between the guest and host OS or have active Network connections between then it is possible for worms and malware to infect files on the shared folder and or permeate through the network connection (the later is rather rare these days, since most malware seems to be of the more brainless "trojan horse" varieties, which rely in the user essentially to distribute them).thx for the response.. I figured VMs can have viruses. I just wanted ANOTHER VIEW point to be sure.
