Answer» I disabled both of the video card drivers on my Toshiba laptop, now there is no display at all, after the initial Windows XP splash page. I can't seem to figure out how to enable them again from the Windows C prompt. How do I enable atleast one of my video drivers again so that I can see what's on the screen when in the OS?Take a look in the BIOS for integrated video or something like that.Doug Tanner........Can you reboot into safe mode ? are you able to get into the bios ?

dl65 I've tried rebooting into safe mode but it still won't bring up a picture. I can get into the bios but didn't see anything I could do there (not an expert).BTW, I became a member and changed from Doug Tanner to Sprinter1967. sprinter1967...Whats the model number of your laptop ?
dl65 It's a Toshiba Satellite laptop, believe a 1410-S105 or similar.sprinter1967...I have been doing a little checking and this is what I have found.....
you can't disable a video driver other than back to generic vga mode, if no display is comming up while booting you got hit by a virus.
there is a default mode which is 640 x 480 vga and this does not use any video driver EXCEPT the built in driver for xp or windows
the SOLUTION is to reload the OS..... ( I got this info direct from a reliable scource at Toshiba )
At least thats what it SOUNDS like .

dl65,
I appreciate your help on this. I understand about the possible virus, but it just seems COINCIDENTAL for me to disable the video graphics card, reboot the cpu and have the display not work. I was afraid that I WOULD need to reload my OS. Thanks again for checking in to this for me.
