Check first of all to make sure all fans are operating properly. Does there seem to be any other errant behaviour such as freezes or lockups ?There indeed are lockups and freezes If the noise is coming from the hard drive, then back up your stuff and have the drive replaced as it's getting ready to go south. If that noise is the CPU or Vid Card fan you risk burning them up. Finding out what's making the noise should be the priority right now.
