Answer» Hello,
I have a Sony VAIO VPC-EA2UFX-W purchases summer of 2010. About three weeks ago, my battery would only charge to 34% regardless of how long I have it PLUGGED in. When plugged in the AC Adapter is lit green, the LED light in the front of my laptop is lit red, and there is a battery icon on my taskbar noting that it is "plugged in, charging." FIGURING that my laptop battery was just deteriorating, I BOUGHT a new one through Encompass Parts; VPG-BPS22. When I put the new battery in, my laptop doesn't detect it. I called Sony and now that my laptop is out of warranty it will cost $99.99 for them to run an online diagnostic. Is there ANYTHING I can fix this problem?Let it charge completely overnite without using the laptop... Post back with the results... It may be the charger as well.Yesterday I left it plugged in with the new battery all day while I was out. The battery didn't charge at all. They can test the power pack at any PC shop...no need to shell out $99.00 to Sony... Was the laptop dropped ? ?I have never dropped it or physically damaged it in any way. And other than this, I haven't had any ISSUES with it.
