Answer» I have been transferring files from my PC to my laptop via a USB drive and find that not all files are displaying when i OPEN the USB drive on the laptop. There are 799mb files indicated (Right-click on the drive>Properties) but only 199mb total of files are displayed when I open the drive.
The files are a mixture of FOLDERS and .exe files that I am trying to transfer. Some files I will delete because they are already on the laptop, others contain .exe (downloaded apps.) files along with reg. numbers and relevant info. Most apps. are up and running on the PC and I now want to INSTALL them on the l/top.
The "hide protected SYSTEM files" is unticked as well. What method did you use to copy the files ? ?Hi Patio
Using WinXP SP2 OS, I drag-and-dropped individual files from the PC folders into the 'removable disk', USB drive.
Cheers GaryThe only time this method causes problems is when the files/folders exceed a certain size...
I use the "Send To " extension for Windows from the PowerToys collection and have never had an issue. Puts everything a right click away. Thanks
I will give it a try NEXT time I copy files across.
Cheers Gary
