Solve : USA: One Reason Not To Go Online After May 5.? |
|
Answer» I just read a post by By Alexandra Blackshaw on Smarter Web Life . Earlier this month we saw thousands of people across the US get their hands on the the latest Online ID protection from SaferWeb, after yet another increase in identity theft and web-history monitoring. Huh? Lack of availability? Whee do I go to stand in line? EDIT: Please help me understand what she said. Is this really just another PR for some late coming security company?Marketing nonsense for some WORTHLESS VPN service. Ignore it. Amusingly I get the title "1 Reason Not To Go Online If You Live In UK" so they are clearly using the visitors IP address to fill in the correct location to make it appear more relevant to them.Camerongray, thanks for the response. So this was just a lame PR blog thing. I fell for it. BTW: Would it matter much if an INDIVIDUAL went VPN all the time? My understanding is that most pf the time you do not need it when e your BANK already has a secure connection anyway. And I don't see have VPN would stop identity theft. Mine says Canada. Also interesting, is that the entire post content is blocked by uBlock. The comments are where the real gold is, though. They are all 100% fake. slap any of those comments into a quoted google search and see that these "people" have made the same comments quite a number of times. The comments also appear to have been somehow submitted before the page was put online. (According to web.archive.org and memento) That's a pretty amazing feat. Mine said US also! The top of the page said that, it is an "Advertorial" that was all I NEEDED to read! Geek you're about to be limited to 1 News story a month if you don't find better sources...I am sorry... |
