Solve : Updating Google Chrome Browser? |

Answer» I dusted off an old Windows XP laptop despite its no longer being supported and tried to update the Google CHROME Browser, which would fail each time it tried to update automatically. I uninstalled it thinking I would REINSTALL it with the latest version. I was unaware of the system requirements and my anemic Celeron CPU does not meet the Pentium 4 standards, so my attempts fail. I have tried their alternate installer unsuccessfully and have also tried older versions of Chrome, which Filehippo offers, to no avail. I do have other browsers which I can use, but my PREFERENCE is Chrome. Any ideas?You COULD try a System Restore if there are any Restore points before you uninstalled it.Thanks SuperDave. Unfortunately I have no restore points prior to the UNINSTALL. I think I will go with Safari.Try checking oldapps download website for Google Chrome http://www.oldapps.com/google_chrome.phpThanks Jason 2074. Google no longer supports the old app site. |
