Answer» Hi folks. I am relatively new, so I would ask that no one call me stupid or make me feel even more miserable than I already do.
I was wondering if anyone knows what STEPS that someone who posts a forum, yet still has an unresolved issue, should take. I tried to read in all the FAQs, Posting Rules, etc., but I did not come across the answer to this. I even tried "unanswered question", etc. in the SEARCH engine.
Specifically, I am referring to a forum (see below) I started several weeks back. It was basically a 2-part question (one major and one minor), and I did receive help with the minor one. But the post count now STANDS at 3 (one response to my post & my thanks to the responder) with no activity for maybe 3 weeks or more.
I have to believe with all the miraculous things I've read on these forums that someone has to know how to help me. Yet the goal of this question is not to get that issue dealt per se; it's to ask you who have more experience what to do when a situation LIKE this arises.
Thanks to all. The path to the specific forum to which I am referring is below:
Microsoft / Microsoft Windows / System Standby/Hibernate Not Available in Windows XP SP3
Newbie Having a Bad Day (actually decade)Replying to your own topic is usually frowned upon and sometimes considered 'spamming'. But since the last reply you had was on December 28, 2008 I don't see why you shouldn't reply to it with a simple, "still needing help" or something similar. That will move the thread back onto the first page of the forum and get it more attention. Nobody is going to see it most likely once it gets to the second, third page.Welcome Aboard black069... If you haven't had a reply in some time the easiest way is to simply add a reply in your own Topic. This bumps the Topic so it can be seen again. As long as this isn't abused feel free to do so. I'll have a look meantime.
EDIT: Stop typing faster than me EF.... Ha!! And I'm on my old clunker
