Answer» Hello: I am trying to run a school application and I get an Unhanded exception x001607. I am using Windows 10 Pro. It was working fine until a couple of days AGO. Now that I have to submit all my stuff, I am getting the error. I really need your help. Best regards, -jWhich Application?
Does this application support Windows 10?It is this application http://www.cem.umich.edu/Ioannou/strobosys/Stroboscope/stroboscope.htm It is used at my uni. I think it is developed in C++. It was working perfectly fine until a couple of days ago. Looks like the project was created in Visio 2002 .... Windows 10 has some issues with Visio 2002 after an UPDATE. Have you CONTACTED the university to SEE if others are having this problem as well with that program and Windows 10? Maybe they have a known bug fix for this.
If its broken from an update to Windows 10, you could get it to work like it did a few days ago if you restore to a previous recovery point when the software ran properly. Be sure to backup your data to an external backup device prior to rolling back to earlier restore point, but if its a Windows update that broke it and you can go back to a previous point before the update, then the software should work as it did prior to the update. Oh I see. I am using Visio 2013. Seems like a recent update screwed it up. Thanks. Can't go back to a restore point, the COMPUTER does not give me the option. Seems like I will have to reset the pc and start from scratch. Kinda drastic...just uninstall Visio 2013...and install 2002 Uninstalled the program and Visio 2013. Reinstalled Visio 2002 and the program, no luck. Do All These Steps Over Again...
Note: The.exe has to be overwritten from the original install for it to run properly...Paragraph #4...Thank you for your help. It didn't work. I contacted the developer, waiting for the reply.
