Answer» I have no idea where this goes, so ... ... The same problem is occurring on another computer on the same system at my house, so I'm assuming it's a network problem, connection problem or some virus of some nature... Your assumption is probably correct. DSL or cable? Wired or wireless router? FIREWALL? Antivirus? Spyware CLEANER? Earthlink cable wired router we have a firewall and a spyware cleaner, but no anti-virus program. We've scanned with a few different programs and come up with nothing each time. Quite the myster. Thanks!I suspect you may be infected with a trojan of some kind. Immediately download and install an Anti-Virus Program. A good, free one is AVG. http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5Your MTU (Max. Transmission Unit) may be set too high. Some routers have a default MTU that is too high, or it may have been changed by some rubbish Internet connection "optmising" software. Are you connecting to the Internet via a router? If your MTU is over 1452, try setting it to that. If the same problem occurs, reduce the MTU setting by a small amount each time until the problem goes away. Any qns, post again. |
