The computer worked FINE yesterday, shut it down normally.
Today computer will go to "DELL Logo" screen and hang up. Light on drive D: (CD) is on, TRAY will not slide out upon pressing button.
Inserted system disk, restarted, goes to DELL Logo sceen and stops.
Inserted Windows CD, restarted, same as above.
Held down CTRL key, will not go into Safe Mode.
Any suggestions WOULD be appreciated, thanks, norbt.First, do you have virus protection? Rescue disks made? Second, I don't think you press the CTRL key for safe mode, I think it's F8... Third, have you made any changes to your system recently?
[glb]Flame[/glb]Try to reset the BIOS.I tried to log in 8 or 9 TIMES in the morning, trying the system disk, the windows cd , etc. without success.
I tried it once more in the evening and it it worked fine!! My computer is working fine again.
