This somehow reminds me of some goof that was trying to say Visual Basic was just a cheap copy of Delphi, without realizing that the first implementation of a language literally called "Delphi" (not counting Object pascal) was in 1994- and Visual Basic 1.0 was released in 1991, a full three years after before Delphi- which begs the question as to how it is a "cheap copy" of something that didn't exist yet! They, uh, went forward in, uh, time! Yeah! They copied it, and brought it back!

This will help you have a broader understanding of the subject. In doing your research, it is not just about getting answers to specific questions, but about getting a view of the landscape. When you understand who this man was, you will understand more about the programming language that he named not after himself, but someone before him.
The language was meant to be an ideal teaching tool, not a production tool.
