Answer» Trying to customize my START menu a little and I want to remove this pane, PLACES, so its thinner. A lot like the old windows start menu (windows 98 i think). I know you can choose to use the old one but it's not what I want. Try Right Clicking the Star Button, going to Properties, and SELECTING CLASSIC Start Menu.You can't. It's hard coded into Windows.
