Solve : Tried to multiboot and screwed everything up with Kali Linux 1.0.6?

Answer»

I installed kali Linux and now my laptop won't boot at all. I can't get cds to boot into a recovery environment. I've tried to boot Hirens cd, ultimateboot cd, systemrescue cd and it just spits them out and restarts. Only certain cds will boot: windows 8.1, helix boot cd, kali linux, ubuntu 15.04. What do I do to resolve this problem? Thank you for your help.

Did it come with Windows 8 installed?
Do you have a backup of you personal data?
You may have to install the Windows 8 system all over again.

As for Kali Linux, I have no experience with it. I would commend one of the recent Ubuntu or Linux Mint editions. You might want go to the Ubuntu chat room and ask around about dual moot with Windows 10.

Here is a link to a relevant article. You may have to use legacy mode.
Install Ubuntu alongside Windows 10 with legacy bios?

Does that help any?

oh yes the pain, I fell it.

Need a bit more info though, what DOSE it say when it tries to boot, how FAR dose it get, what is it attempting to boot to, can you "live CD" boot in to Kali, do you get to GRUB, is the bios set to uefi or legacy, what steps did you follow when you installed kali?

It says all boot options have been tried. It's attempting to boot to nothing. I can not live CD into nothing... no rescue cd's of any kind work at all. Its set to UEFI. I used the opposite of the graphical user interface. now its just spitting out cd's and doing nothing really.Disable UEFI in the BIOS...press F10 to "save changes and exit"...
Try a boot disc 1st on SUBSEQUENT boot...I have fixed the problem, thank you guys. Somehow magically I TOOK the hard drive out, and the battery. Pressed the power button and this drained the power from the machine and caused SOMETHING to happen and I was able to install to the hard drive afterwards.
