Solve : Trade in value seems like a serious RIP OFF?

Answer»

Decided to look at Radioshack to see what they had to offer for Black Friday deals and I found a link to Trade-in Your Computer, and thought...hmm... lets see what my computer I bought in 2009 is worth, just out of curiosity.

Sadly the trade in values seem very much a RIP OFF. My Toshiba Laptop that I bought in late 2009 brand new for $469 they claim is only worth $43.87 trade-in, in like new condition and no problems.

*If I knew of people willing to part with theirs in the same good working condition of light use RUNNING Windows 7 32-bit, I'd buy a bunch of them at $43.87 and sell them for $120 or more each as refurbs. Mine with ATHLON II x2 CPU, 2GB Ram, 500GB HD, WIN 7 32-bit, and 17" WIDESCREEN, that has only been used when on a few business trips I'd say is worth around $200 if I wanted to sell it quickly to people I know, but its not for sale.

I DONT trade in computers, I pretty much use them until they can no longer serve a realistic processing purpose and then recycle them. Just had a laugh when i saw $43.87 ( Yeah RIGHT! )

I looked up an old Toshiba Qosmio F25 that I have to see what that is worth with Core 2 Duo 1.83Ghz CPU, and that heavy beast is worth $0.00 even in perfect working condition. So they want more modern laptops and to pay next to nothing for them.

Oh and they wont reject trade in for $0.00 of a F25 Toshiba Qosmio perfectly running with original box and Remote for TV-tuner card thats built into it running Windows XP SP3...LOL... I'd takeany free laptops I can get myself as long as they aren't stolen or radioactive!
