Answer» I have a picture on my computer that does exactly what the title SAYS. I click on it, and it displays the pic in the thumbnail window, but when I open it, it says "Drawing Failed." I know the data must still be there if the thumbnail can display. Can anyone help me?DOUBLE Post...how can it be a double post when the only 2 posts I have are the 2 in this thread? My APOLOGIES...i COULD swear i saw the same question in another thread.
Too much caffiene.
How was the thumbnail created originally ?I'm not sure what you mean by that. It's not a seperate file. in XP, when you click on a pic, it shows a thumbnail of the pic in the details boxCan you open that pic with Paint or some photo editing software?Don't quote me on this but i believe that when Windows thumbnails an image it actually creates it and saves it to the thumbnail cache file...so although you are able to see the thumbnail the original image file could still become corrupt and un-readable...
DLoad and install Irfanview one of the best free image programs out there and see if it can view it.paint won't work, and neither does irfanview. it just shows a very small fragment of the image at the top of the screen. and as for the thumbnail thing, I took this file off of another computer while it was doing this, and moved it on to mine. So unless the thumbnail image is embedded and came with it or something...i REALLY do not think there is anything u can do other than recover the original file....
try cyber scrub !!
