denominator = x + 3 and numerator = y + 3

Ratio is 2 : 3.

⇒ (y + 3)/(x + 3) = 2/3

⇒ 3(y + 3) = 2(x + 3)

⇒ 3y + 9 = 2x + 6  

         from (1)

⇒ 3y + 9 - 6 = 2(4 + y)

⇒ 3y + 3 = 8 + 2y

⇒ 3y - 2y = 8 - 3 = 5

⇒ y = 5

  hence,

x = 4 + y = 4 + 5 = 9

 Therefore, the fraction is:

fraction = y/x  = 5/9
