Answer» Hello,
I would like to know more about when my computer runs into trouble and it shuts down and when I re-start and get a black screen with white PRINT instructing me or making some information statement, in the past it all of a sudden disappears, and I have to RESTART to figure out what it said, there have been times I have had to do this several times to figure it out.
Does this have anything to do with
System >= System Properties>=Advanced>=Settings>= Start Up and Recovery=30 Sec.
Would this time setting have anything to do with the black info page disappearing ?
Jp Possibly. The 30 seconds refers to the AMOUNT of time that startup and recovery options are shown on screen - usually safe mode, last known good config, and so on. Is that what you mean? this time can be increased or decreased as desired - I set mine to 60 seconds.Yeah, . . Thanks Guy.
JpYou're welcome. I find the default is very low, doesn't give you much time to make a choice, especially if you're not there at that moment. While you're on that page, disable AUTOMATICALLY restart on errors. This message is often associated with recently changed System Settings, such as MSCONFIG changes, and other edits.
Normally, it can be ignored without a problem, its just a way for someone to get their computer back if a problem happens.
What Calum said will stop the messages, without causing any problems
