Solve : stop error 0x00000073?

Answer»

I have read the postings about the 0x00000073 error, and I was wondering that if the PC ran befor the crash wouldn't it have enough memory to still run? I have an OLDER PC that was given to me w/o any disks. The other day while thePC was running there was a power failure, and the PC lost power. When I went to restart my PC it went to the start up options screen. What ever mode I CHOOSE eventualy returns me to the stop error 0x00000073 (0x00000001,0x0000017D,0x00000002,0x8D63BBB8 .  I made the REQUESTED adjustments to the cashe mem in the bios, but the problem remains the same.  First time user, please forgive any lack of protocol. This issue might occur if a system thread generates an exception that the error handler does not catch. This exception can be caused by any of the following:

  • If this issue occurs after the first restart during Windows Setup or after Setup is COMPLETE, the computer might not have sufficient hard disk space to run Windows XP.
The computer BIOS might be incompatible with Windows XP, or it might have to be updated.
The video adapter drivers might be incompatible with Windows XP.
A device driver or a system service might be damaged.
If the issue is associated with the Win32k.sys file, it might be caused by a third-party remote CONTROL program.
