Answer» How can I (please keep it simple, LOL ) PERMANENTLY remove items from my STARTUP MENU.
Not just uncheck the box, but eliminate the LISTED item. THX.
Wind XP Pro
IE 8.Be cautious what you remove may be needed for a peripheral or software on you computer to run properly.
Hover over the one you wish to remove right click on it and select delete.
Even better find the software that put it there and disable it through there. 1) If it is unchecked and the comp runs fine . . . do I need it ?
i.e., the Event Manager for my printer ?
2) "Right clicking' a listed item does not bring up a 'Delete' option, or anything else.1. I think it is more important to enumerate or list those items you want to delete before proceeding. 2. And why you want to delete them. Is there a problem with SYSTEM Performance? 3. You could also use MLin's StartupCPL StandAlone EXE Version(34 KB). http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml1) Download and run Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel (http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml). If you uncheck an item it is removed from the startup location in the registry or your startup folder.
2) Are you saying you want to UNINSTALL a program in addition to keep it from starting? If so, go to Control Panel - Add / Remove
